ACJS Member is a Finalist for Governor General Award

We are pleased to announce that Vivian Felsen, an ACJS member, is a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award in the category of Translation of a book from French into English for her translation of Jacob Isaac Segal: A Montreal Yiddish Poet and His Milieu by Pierre Anctil. The University of Ottawa Press publisher, stated that in translating this book “Vivian Felsen brought a rare combination of expertise, creativity and personal rediscovery of her own family’s history to bear. The result is an outstanding and complex work of translation that takes the reader into a vital and too little-known Yiddish-speaking immigrant community in Montreal.” To read the full University of Ottawa Press Release, click here.
