Our Host: 

Jonathan Slater is a veteran communication professional and professor emeritus of public relations at SUNY Plattsburgh. Slater founded the institution’s Jewish Studies program and is emeritus director of the college’s Institute for Ethics in Public Life. Slater’s research interests include the mediation of Leonard Cohen’s posthumous celebrity and mass media’s role in the Jewish experience. He is at work on a book project about television’s social and political influence in Québec during the 1960s.
